Sarah clearly had a strong desire to follow Jesus whatever form that took. …….      it has been a pleasure to share her journey to freedom and all the highs and lows that she has been through as she has learned to hear God`s voice for herself ,as she has searched the scriptures for truth and sacrificed much in her pursuit of God`s transforming power.

She has  taught myself and  the Ladies Prayer Group so much about what it is to pick up your cross and carry it, she inspires us all with her passion to serve God wholeheartedly  and to do whatever he calls her to despite the cost especially with regards to seeing others set free from sexual sin and damaging lifestyles. Sarah has a powerful message to share and in the culture that we live in today it is needed more than ever, she shares her story in a gentle and blameless way.

TESTIMONIALS

We need to share the stories of same-sex attracted Christians who remain faithful to the biblical teaching on marriage and relationships. These voices are often absent in such debates, but show that a counter-cultural faithfulness to scripture is possible and testify to us of God’s sustaining grace. I have been delighted that Sarah Sedgwick, who is herself a Methodist, has recently launched a website, offering such a testimony.

The first time I met with Sarah formerly was at our Ladies prayer meeting of which at the time I was leader. Prior to that I had seen her at Church from a distance but not had the opportunity to speak with her.  In all honesty I was concerned about what her relationship with Jesus was and how she would fit into our group if her beliefs were incongruent to what the Bible says.

I need not have worried from the moment we first spoke Sarah clearly had a strong desire to follow Jesus whatever form that took. From that time it has been a pleasure to share her journey to freedom and all the highs and low that she has been through as she has learned to hear God`s voice for herself ,as she has searched the scriptures for truth and sacrificed much in her pursuit of God`s transforming power.

As well as all of this Sarah is a powerful prayer warrior and has quietly and courageously drawn alongside and stood in the gap for many of our church family and particularly those who have mental health issues. She has personally encouraged and supported me through a particularly difficult time.

I am proud to call her my friend, prayer partner and sister in Christ.

As Christians who are eager to reach out to those who don't know Jesus, we can often feel at a loss in talking to and praying for those whose life experience is so different from our own. It is for this reason our prayer group was keen to hear Sarah's testimony of her journey to faith from a background of same-sex relationship.

Sarah shared her story at our prayer group with real openness, honesty and integrity. Hearing of her struggles to find God's truth in our post-truth society was challenging and thought provoking. Then, having found the truth, Sarah movingly shared her journey to live out this truth, facing the inevitable lifestyle changes this meant. Sarah's willingness to share both the emotional, practical and spiritual issues she has faced brought great clarity on how we, as Christians, can pray for and support those on similar journeys.

We're convinced this powerful story needs to be told and heard. It will be life-transforming for those on a similar journey. Those who have no personal experience of the issues Sarah shares, will be equipped, informed and enabled to reach out to others with the love and compassion of Christ.
